follows a conversation between leader and follower as well as music and movement, with an exciting balance of knowing and not-knowing what roles were established when. With each of us having obtained moments where we guided the work in a particular direction, we explored the process of releasing and regaining control and the non-verbal dialogue that exists in between.
This work premiered at the 40th Annual Battery Dance Festival in NYC, August 2021. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Maddy Wright was not able to perform on this day, so we presented an adapted excerpt of the piece as a duo. We are grateful to Battery Dance Festival for the opportunity to share our work and we look forward to sharing the full version of the piece some time in the near future. (2021)
